O7 Buy Later for BigCommerce — by Optimum Web Marketing Consultants LLC
Need a hand? E-mail admin@optimum7.com with your store URL and a short description of the issue. We usually reply within two business days.
Looking for step-by-step setup? Read the Installation & User Guide — it covers installing the app, verifying it on your storefront, every dashboard panel, win-back coupons, troubleshooting and uninstalling.
Getting started
- Install O7 Buy Later from the BigCommerce App Marketplace and approve the requested permissions.
- That is the whole setup. The storefront scripts are injected automatically through the BigCommerce Script API — no theme file editing is required.
- Open your store’s cart page while signed in as a customer to see the “Save for Later” button on each cart item.
- Open the app from your BigCommerce admin to see the dashboard.
Requirements
- A BigCommerce store using a Stencil theme.
- Shoppers must be signed in to save items — the widget shows a sign-in prompt to guests.
- Win-back coupons require the marketing permission scope to be granted to the app.
What your shoppers see
- A Save for Later button appears on every item in the cart.
- Clicking it removes the item from the cart and moves it to that shopper’s personal saved list.
- The saved list is shown on the cart page on every later visit, with product image, name, options and price.
- One click moves an item back into the cart, with its variant and options intact.
- If you have issued a win-back coupon for that shopper, the code appears in a banner above the saved list with a copy button.
There is no limit on how many items a shopper can save.
Your dashboard
Stats
Total customers using the feature, total saved items, items moved back to cart in the last 30 days, and items purchased in the last 30 days.
Conversion funnel
Saved → moved back to cart → purchased, counted per unique customer, product and variant. Below it you get cart recovery rate, purchase rate, full-funnel rate and attributed revenue.
Customer details
Expand any customer row to see their saved items, their activity journey, and their purchase history grouped by order — plus what is currently sitting in their live cart.
AI Insights
Expand the AI Insights card and press Analyze. The App sends aggregate, non-identifying metrics to the AI model and returns six short insights — funnel health, product trends, revenue observations and one upsell or cross-sell suggestion. Click any tile for the full explanation.
Insights are generated at most once per store per day and cached, so re-opening the dashboard shows the same result until the next day. Treat them as suggestions, not instructions.
Win-back coupons
- Expand a customer in the customer list.
- Press + New Coupon.
- Choose a percentage or fixed amount, an expiry in days, and whether to target their saved items, their live cart, or both.
- Press Create Coupon.
A single-use BigCommerce coupon is created that applies only to those products, and the code is shown automatically to that shopper on the cart page. You can see whether it has been used and delete it at any time from the same panel.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the app cost?
Nothing. Every feature — unlimited saved items, the full analytics dashboard, AI Insights, live cart tracking and win-back coupons — is free, with no trial and no credit card.
The “Save for Later” button is not showing on my cart page.
Check the following, in order:
- You are on the
/cartpage — the widget only loads there. - You are signed in as a customer. Guests see a sign-in prompt instead.
- Your theme is a Stencil theme and the cart page renders standard cart items.
- The app is still installed and its scripts were not removed manually from Storefront → Script Manager.
Still stuck? Send us your store URL and we will check the injected scripts.
Do guests or signed-out visitors get a saved list?
No. A saved list belongs to a customer account, so the shopper has to be signed in. Guests are shown a prompt to sign in or create an account — which is itself a small conversion win.
Are product options and variants preserved?
Yes. The exact variant and option selections are stored with the item and restored when it is moved back to the cart. The same product saved in two different variants is kept as two separate saved items.
What happens if I delete a product that customers have saved?
The saved entry is deactivated automatically the next time the list is loaded, so shoppers never see a broken product. No action is needed from you.
Coupon creation failed or the button is missing.
Win-back coupons use the BigCommerce marketing API, which needs the marketing permission scope. If your installation predates that permission, re-authorise the app from the BigCommerce App Marketplace so the scope is granted. Everything else in the app keeps working without it.
Can a shopper see or use a coupon meant for someone else?
No. Coupon codes are single-use and are only released to the signed-in shopper they were created for, verified against BigCommerce’s signed customer token.
What data is sent to the AI model?
Only aggregate, non-identifying store metrics: event counts, conversion percentages, revenue totals, product names and prices, and a compact recent daily trend. No customer IDs, names, e-mail addresses, order IDs or coupon codes are included. See the Privacy Policy.
Why can’t I regenerate AI Insights more than once a day?
Insights are generated once per store per calendar day and cached. The underlying data moves slowly, so a daily run keeps the analysis meaningful and the service free for everyone.
Does the app slow down my storefront?
The widget is a small bundle loaded only on the cart page, and it sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage. Product and category pages are untouched.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
The store is deactivated, the storefront scripts are removed and no further data is collected. To have all stored data permanently deleted, e-mail us and we will complete the deletion within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy.
Can I use the app on more than one store?
Yes. Install it on each store; every store keeps its own separate data and dashboard.
